Who Is The One Eyed King?

Recognised, as one of London's most dynamic poets, Beyonder is a multiple-slam winner.  His titles include the prestigious Urban Griots Poetry Slam Championship (in 2000 & 2001), the Lyrical Court All-Stars Grand Slam and the Born to Shine Poetry Slam.

A naturally talented and gifted poet and writer (of short stories, short film scripts), Beyonder is published in 'X' magazine and LOUNGIN' a visionary publication produced in collaboration with fellow creatives, Urbanspirit and Antony @ Juice.  His work has been broadcast on cable TV, the Internet and on radio. His performances have taken him to Europe and across the United States, where he has been featured at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in New York and the De Nacten Festival in the Netherlands and Belgium (Amsterdam & Antwerp).

Not short of creative credentials, as a filmmaker Beyonder has written, produced and starred in the much-lauded, revolutionary short 'DIGITALIS'.  A film that has received nominations at a number of the UK's established film festivals such as The Raindance Film Festival (2002), and The 4th BFM international Film Festival (2002) to name a few.  It has also been screened at the Portobello Film Festival (2002), Bradford Film Festival (2003), and most recently (Sept 2003) at the launch reception of the BFM's 5th International Film Festival in London's Living Room, City Hall (The Mayor of London's office building).

Early in 2003, Artistic Director Kwesi Johnson's, Kompany Malakhi, cast Beyonder in the lead role as 'MC Sleazy' in the physical theatre play 'A Hip-Hop Story' which embarked on a UK national tour to much critical acclaim.
