History
In the year 2000 he won the Portobello Festival nation-wide Dr
Martens performance poetry slam competition and was also awarded
Best London poet in that same year and again in 2002 for Best slam
poetry performance of 2001 voted for by the supporters of Europe's
longest running slam. Also in 2002 he was nominated for a Black
Enterprise Award and in 2003 for a Men and Women of Merit Award.
He is also an event co-ordinator and has hosted and organised
several showcase events providing platforms for aspiring and
established performers world-wide such as the Men & Women of
Wordz Urban Poetry Conventions of 2003 which each featured 16 of
London's most explosive writers, performance poets and spoken word
artists plus an array of guest singers and musicians. He is also the
founder of Verbalized Mindz, an awesome, all inspiring and exciting
monthly Open mic poetry night which takes place in London every 2nd
Thursday of the month.
This prolific and dynamic performer has created such an impact on so
many aspects of the literary scene, that his work can now be seen to
encompass much more than just performance poetry, as he is also a
singer-songwriter and additionally he has been recognised and is
also making waves in event co-ordinating, education, music, and the
wider entertainment scene as a whole, continuing to push the
boundries within all genres of lyric writing and performance.
His work is creative, compelling, instructive, informative and
inspiring, as he continues to go from strength to strength.
