The Pedalling Tom Yates

Tom's second album 'the pedalling tom yates' is a beguiling collection of eleven new songs, often musically gentle, sometimes lush (thanks to the cello section), and with an arresting lyrical focus.

History

Tom Yates is a singer-songwriter whose songs combine simple but memorable tunes with intelligent, thoughtful lyrics.

His new album 'the pedalling tom yates' is a beguiling collection of eleven songs, from the love song "thanks to you" to the protest song "the best that we can do", from the uplifting "lead on" to the melancholic "muse's song".

Tom's debut album 'empty mirror' (2002) is no longer available, though the details are still available on tomyates.com.

Tom currently leads a chaotic double life (in London and Brighton); he performs in bands (I Thalamus and Sparker) in both cities, and hopes to start gigging his own songs in the near future. He also plays cello in the EC4 Music orchestra. See his blog on tomyates.com for details of forthcoming events.
